ESSENZA Gold leaf and Lacquer "Vesuvio" - La Fenice Gold nib SOLD OUT

A truly amazing pen, starting from an "Essenza" model without metal parts, gold nib #6 assembled on japanese ebonite red feed. The pen is produced entirely with the manual lathe using Japanese ebonite. Inspired by one of the most important symbols of our city, "Mount Vesuvius" and its incandescent lava reminds us of this wonderful pattern.

Is a contemporary interpretation of the classic black and gold colors. This writing instrument, made of black translucent lacquer, is embellished with real gold leaf applied by hand.

Gold leaf history started with the use of gold leaf in sculpture or painting and dates back to Egypt. Gold was the color of the gods, the pharaohs, and the sarcophagi. Gold leaf was therefore mainly used for decorating the rooms in the pyramids that were intended as the pharaoh’s tomb.
In the world of modern painting, gold leaf was used by painters and artists to decorate various works. Of these artists, the most famous is undoubtedly Gustav Klimt (1862-1918). During what was called his “golden phase”, the artist created a series of paintings with gold leaf and reached the pinnacle of his success.

The finish product is stunning, the decoration was done and signed by French Artist Morgan Wisser.
